Data API Keys

These are third-party data services, not exchanges. CryptoBaza ships with no shared keys, so adding your own free keys raises your personal rate limits and unlocks advanced features in Settings → Integrations → API Keys.

Required vs Optional Keys
  • Required for specific features: FRED (Macro widget), Etherscan V2 (BSC + Linea balances), Beaconcha.in (ETH staking).
  • Optional, raises limits: CoinGecko, CoinCap, CryptoCompare.
  • Optional, unlocks richer data: MistTrack (full AML scoring vs. free tags).
  • Reserved (not yet used): Blockchair.

CoinGecko — prices & market data (optional)

A free demo key raises the price rate limit from ~5 to 30 requests/min.

  1. Open coingecko.com/en/api in your browser.
  2. Click Get Your Free API Key.
  3. Sign up for a free account or log in.
  4. Your key appears on the dashboard — it starts with CG-.
  5. Copy and paste it into CryptoBaza.

FRED (Federal Reserve) — required for the Macro widget

Powers M2 Money Supply and US 2Y/10Y Treasury yields. Free, 120 requests/min.

  1. Open fredaccount.stlouisfed.org in your browser.
  2. Click Create a New Account and fill in your details.
  3. Verify your email address.
  4. Log in → My Account → API Keys.
  5. Click Request API Key, enter any description, and submit.
  6. Copy the 32-character hex key and paste it into CryptoBaza.

Etherscan V2 — required for BSC + Linea balances

One V2 key covers 60+ EVM chains via chain ID. Free tier gives 5 requests/sec.

  1. Open etherscan.io/myapikey in your browser.
  2. Sign up for a free account and verify your email.
  3. Click Add to create a new API key.
  4. Copy the generated key and paste it into CryptoBaza.
    Note: The same key works on every chain Etherscan V2 supports — no separate BscScan or LineaScan keys needed.

Beaconcha.in — required for ETH staking rows

  1. Open beaconcha.in/register in your browser.
  2. Create a free account and verify your email.
  3. Go to your profile → API Access.
  4. Copy the displayed key and paste it into CryptoBaza.

Solana RPC URL — reliable SOL balance & staking (optional)

The public mainnet-beta RPC throttles hard. A dedicated endpoint keeps both balances and staking reliable.

  1. Open helius.dev (or quicknode.com / triton.one) in your browser.
  2. Sign up for a free account.
  3. Create a new Solana mainnet RPC endpoint.
  4. Copy the full URL (usually includes a ?api-key=… suffix).
  5. Paste it into CryptoBaza — it must include the scheme (https://).

MistTrack (SlowMist) — full AML scoring (optional)

Without it, AML falls back to free Blockscout community tags (EVM only).

  1. Open misttrack.io in your browser.
  2. Click API / Developer in the top navigation.
  3. Sign up for a free account (email verification required).
  4. Go to your dashboard → API Keys.
  5. Create a new key with AML risk score permissions.
  6. Copy the key and paste it into CryptoBaza. (Free tier = limited checks/month.)

CoinCap — catalog fallback (optional)

A free key raises the rate limit; used as a fallback coin-catalog source.

  1. Open coincap.io in your browser.
  2. Sign up for a free account and verify your email.
  3. Go to your dashboard and open the API section.
  4. Generate a new API key.
  5. Copy and paste it into CryptoBaza.

CryptoCompare — price fallback (optional)

Anonymous tier gives 100,000 calls/month; a free key raises it to 250,000.

  1. Open cryptocompare.com/cryptopian/api-keys in your browser.
  2. Sign up for a free account.
  3. Click Create New API Key.
  4. Copy the 64-character hex string and paste it into CryptoBaza.

Blockchair — reserved (optional)

Saved by the app but not yet wired to any request in v1.0. Free tier allows ~1,440 requests/day without a key.

  1. Open blockchair.com/api in your browser.
  2. Under Plans, pick the free or paid tier.
  3. Click Get API Key and sign up with your email; verify it.
  4. Copy the key from the dashboard and paste it into CryptoBaza.
Privacy Reminder: Every key you add — exchange or data provider — is stored only on your device and sent only to its own provider. CryptoBaza has no account system and no server that sees your keys.
